BrainWave Connection specializes in website development, construction and search engine optimization in Dayton, Ohio. Although they have clients nationwide, the slowdown in US business activity was hampering their ability to meet their growth targets. That’s when Dan Barton, President of BrainWave Connection, decided it was time to make a bold strategic move and go to where the growth is - Mexico and Latin America.
Web usage in Mexico is growing very rapidly. In 2008, 27.4 million people in Mexico, nearly one-quarter of the population of 110 million, were online. That number is expected to increase by 82% by 2012. In addition, the number of broadband subscriptions is expected to reach 9.9 million by 2012, an 89% increase from the 2008 figure.
“Strong numbers like these will drive sales for sophisticated technical services for websites like the ones we provide,” Dan Barton explained. “We wanted a partner in Latin America that could help us bridge the culture and language gaps. They had to be savvy marketers and business people with experience working with multi-national enterprises that understood the power of organic search dominance.”
In Monterrey, Mexico, Roberto Espinoza, a former Marketing Director with Maytag, and Giorgio Di Vece, the successful marketing communications agency owner of Grupo DBP for 20 years, understood the next big move in Mexican business was multi-national and large scale enterprises adopting eMarketing systems and demanding search dominance in their category.
Espinoza explained, “We decided to search for a partner in the United States that could help us with website construction and Search Engine Optimization. We conducted numerous online searches and spoke with several companies. All of them could help us build websites, but the team at BrainWave Connection understood the big picture and had a track record of success.”
“BrainWave Connection understood the need for category search dominance and the synergies of search optimized translation. That gives a unique set of capabilities that multi-national enterprises are looking for,” added Di Vece.
“The partnership was consummated 2 weeks ago but we have been working together for 3 months while legal issues and contracts were ironed out,” explained John Hill, VP Sales and Marketing for Brainwave Connection. “We can provide large U.S. enterprises a bigger geographic footprint and search dominate websites in Spanish speaking markets and search dominate websites in the United States for Spanish speaking enterprises. The synergies work both ways.”
